Have you ever wondered how the oversize auctions on eBay are delivered? Now you can find out with a new TV series as uShip, the transportation and shipping marketplace, serves as the backdrop of “Shipping Wars,” HISTORY’s original reality series that airs tonight, Monday the 4th March at 10pm.
“Shipping Wars” follows six independent transporters who regularly use uShip as a source of new and repeat business. The carriers use uShip’s bidding platform to engage in fierce competition to deliver uShip-sourced oversized and bulky loads. But no delivery is too big for these professionals, whether it’s hauled on a truck/trailer combination, a White Man Van or a classic lorry.
Don’t think that it’s all plain sailing for the truckers though, the program is pretty realistic and shows when the transporters bite off more than they can chew as well as the successes!
“Haulage and delivery is a tough, competitive business,” said Lupo Westerhuis, General Manager, uShip Europe. “’Shipping Wars’ gives viewers a glimpse into the life of the independent American trucker, the unpredictable job they face, and how they turn the unshippable into the ‘uShip-able,’ whether they’re a rookie hauler or seasoned veteran. We’re thrilled that the interesting characters, competitive bidding and compelling loads found on uShip.com will be a part of this HISTORY series.”
If you’ve got something undeliverable to ship, or if you want to buy something that the seller has for “Collection only”, then the chances are high that you’ll find a courier on uShip who can help out.
You can watch Shipping Wars on SKY: HISTORY 529 & 530 (+1) or Virgin: HISTORY 234

Having watched those massive container cranes being delivered to the new deep water facility @ the head of the Thames on TV the other day, nothing surprises me, when it comes to getting something from A to B.
