James and James Fulfilment“With the huge growth eCommerce sites and Marketplace sellers, James and James have addressed the demand for specialist fulfilment.” said James Hyde Operations Director.

James and James warehouse and despatch orders for their client’s online shops. What’s different is how they created they company to manage the specific requirements of eCommerce and marketplace sellers.

James and James offer storage and real-time order processing, with live reporting and integration with all shopping carts, marketplaces and couriers. Clients can login and view an order from purchase right through to delivery and even to see who signed for it – all updated as it happens.

The system’s database holds and displays every last detail of the fulfilment process, from images of every product and case, batch and best before dates, through to the operator who last touched it.

This all gives clients a competitive advantage when it comes to stock control, customer service and, essentially, their reputation. By ensuring better stock rotation and automated alerting of potential issues before they happen, James and James are helping businesses to reduce costs and increase margins. While James and james take care of all aspects of the fulfilment process sellers have more time to sell.

All product barcodes are scanned in the the system on arrival and scanned out again when they are packed. This live up to the second inventory gives sellers the confidence that when they accept an order there is the stock to fulfil it.

Their automated inventory alerts are not based on a fix figure, but take into account clients lead times, historical sales data and best before end dates. This automatically alerts clients when it’s time to order more stock and highlights potential best before end issues while there is still time to react; dramatically reducing the risk of out-of-date stock and removing the need for clearance sales and stock write offs.

For products with best before dates, all orders will be despatched in strict date order based on their best before dates (which are logged in the system upon arrival) and not the date the stock was booked into the warehouse. The process is fully automatic – gone are the days of manually checking individual bottles. Batches and best before dates are linked too, so it is fast and easy to ensure specific best before dates can be picked for those major trade clients who demand longer shelf life.

As part of the launch of these new services, the company is also re-branding its image.

James Hyde and James Strachan“The new identity communicates that we are serious about who we are, what we do and why we are doing it. We’re not just another fulfilment company – it’s a different way of thinking.” said James Strachan, Technical Director. “Crucially these new features are very important for our clients – we’re seeing their industry getting a lot more competitive.”

James and James was founded in 2010 by James Hyde and James Strachan and they tripled their business in 2011 and 2012. James and James offer a new way of technological thinking for eCommerce fulfilment specialising in fulfilment for marketplace sellers.
