I’m delighted to announce that today my new book Make Serious Money on eBay UK, Amazon and Beyond has been published. You can buy it on Amazon, download it for your Kindle or pop down to your local book shop. It’s out there now.
As many of you will know, this is the third edition of a book I first published in 2005, and over the years it’s sold very well and been a useful source of help and advice for thousands of people embarking upon their eBay and ecommerce journey.
A few months ago I spent several weeks completely updating and extending the book to bring it bang up to date. The previous edition had a solely eBay focus and that’s gone. Now nearly half the book looks at selling on other marketplaces, especially Amazon.
Some of the topics I look at are:
- Top notch eBay selling with a look at Best Match and TRS issues
- Taking on Amazon, winning the Buy Box and prospering over there
- Third party multi-channel tools and what they can do for you
- Building and launching a website of your own
And sprinkled throughout I’ve included anecdotes, case studies, loads of links to further reading, insider tips and also stacks of practical ecommerce business advice that I’ve garnered over the past fifteen years. It’s intended to be an entertaining as well as useful read.
It’s also been great to include dozens of ideas for third-party services too, just as we do in the Tamebay Guide.
For many of you, the book will just be Egg Sucking for Grandmothers. But others will also find it genuinely useful, especially if you’re looking for that leap from eBay to Amazon or growing your business in general.
And even if you know more than I do, it’s a great present. If you’ve got a friend or family member who’s always asking for help and guidance on eBay selling and the like, this is just what they need.

we have sold on ebay for 15 years seen ,done ,and had most things done to us, though we would not know where to start if we were going to consider selling on amazon , we would most certainly read this first , before we did
I think profit for 3rd party sellers dont go hand in hand anymore. I think there is too many graded and bankrupt, 2nds refurbished on the ebay platform
Prices we sell for are unsustainable. Auction prices are ridiculous.
I cant see anyone making a decent margin and not being under pressure selling ebay alone, unless they are happy just get by.
