Along with every other source out there Rakuten’s Play.com foresees traffic, orders and sales will go through the roof on Cyber Monday and peak during lunch time at 1pm and in the evening between 7-9pm. It’s interesting to see that Play are still stuck in the CD/DVD/Games end of the market, it’s going to take a lot of work for them to shrug it off.
We just added c. 1600 products into their catalogue and its wasn’t all that bad to be fair… once you’re registered as a seller on there, you can add your own products via bulk upload without any human intervention. Picked up 20 or so sales over the weekend – not groundbreaking by any stretch, but better than a kick in the teeth at the same time!
The top 5 best selling products for Christmas are DVD and Games? I bet that nobody heard of little unique gifts for everyday use – Parax Stone Paper – Waterproof and Tear Resistant Notebooks and Gift Bags Made from Stone. Really smooth paper to write on. Tree Free and Eco Friendly too! I would recomment to any one who likes unique gadgets!:)
