Expert tips for eBay Sellers starting their own webstores

No primary category set

At the various events I’ve been attending over the past few weeks, one topic does seem to be vexing people. When is the right time to branch out off the marketplaces and start your own webstore?

It’s an impossible question to answer and earlier in the year Andy Geldman of WebRetailer wrote a provocative piece questioning the wisdom of having a webstore at all. It’s too difficult, costly and unlikely to succeed, he suggested.

Now, in response to that article, he’s taken the opposite tack. The new piece explores some of the strategies and services you can employ to build your own independent transactional webstore.

It’s jam packed with very useful ideas. But I think the over-riding thing is to get on and do it if it’s going to be part of your ecommerce mix. Webstores take time to bed in so the sooner you get going the better.
