eBay UK is looking for sellers to appear in publicity video

No primary category set

Are you ready for your close-up? eBay is looking for sellers who want to be involved and feature in a special promotion video that will be pubished on the Telegraph website.

If you want to be involved, do drop me a line: dan at tamebay dot com or use the contact form above.

We don’t have any additional detail but this is what they’ve sent over with reference to what they’re looking for:

“We’re now looking for more traders who would be willing to appear in a video we’d like to make for the Telegraph online. We’re looking for very successful private traders (not brands) who have built a thriving business primarily using eBay, with a large turnover (ideally £1m+ if possible). In an ideal world they would be based within a radius of max 2hrs train journey from London (bonus points all round if they’re inside the M25!) Age is not important, but the more interesting/visual their set up and products, the better.”

  1. I’m sorry, I am trying to take this seriously but . . . can you image just how many times the “Director” will shout “Cut!” until they get the “participants” to say the exact lies – I’m sorry, I mean words – before they get what they want?

  2. I think it’s about time they started fixing actual problems before doing things like this!

What about the disease that is sellers from the likes of China and Taiwan listing as “ships from UK” but actually ship from outside the UK, they also get discounted rates compared to our internal RM rates… you can’t even compete with these people manipulating the system and it’s just getting worse!

  3. Is this some very weird spin?
Surely eBay know who might be suitable without the need to ‘advertise’ for candidates?

And, as noted above, being ‘Powerseller of the Month’ was always a great way to become a hostage to fortune.
    Good luck.

  4. It would be good publicity. Pity we are outside the specified area. We are a rug retailer who have developed from a private seller to a business seller. We enjoy keeping up to date with tamebay keep up the good work.

  5. Good to see that ebay have not lost their sense of humour, along with all their private sellers.
