Today at Ecommerce Expo, Shopware announced that they’re expanding into the UK, offering a new solution to retailers wanting to set up an ecommerce store on the web.
Shopware is a German software manufacturer for online shop systems, established in the year 2000 and now have 70 employees. The company is currently focusing on its core product Shopware 4 for companies and online shops of all sizes.
With more than 26,000 customers and over 800 sales partners, Shopware is currently one of the most successful manufacturers of shop software. Shopware also operates “bepado“, a networking and marketplace platform for both shop owners and suppliers, which has been rapidly growing since July 2013.
“The United Kingdom is one of the largest eCommerce markets in the world and is expected to grow by almost 20 percent in 2014. That’s why we think the opportunities there for Shopware are huge,” reports Wiljo Krechting, Media Spokesman of shopware AG. “We are working closely with different agencies to ensure the perfect preparation of the software to accommodate the needs of differing markets. This relates to both the language as well as legal and cultural factors,” explains Wiljo.
The internationalisation of the company has been fully underway since the start of 2014. An English and Dutch version of the shop system already exists, along with complete online documentation. The Shopware Academy has been set up for training purposes, which offers workshops and webinars in English in order to instruct customers and partners on the optimum use of the software. Shopware already has eleven partner agencies in the Netherlands and a rapidly growing number of software users.
Shopware have four versions, a Community Edition (Free but with support through the Shopware Community), a Professional Edition (€1,295 with support and advanced features) and two Enterprise Editions for those wanting highly scalable software solutions.
