CollectPlus comment on possible service delays

CollectPlus have been in touch with a comment on the suspension of of Yodel collections because they handle CollectPlus’s delivery.

The statement reads: “Due to increased parcel volumes over the peak trading period and following the huge number of online sales made throughout Black Friday and Cyber Monday, our customers may be experiencing a delay to our service. During this time CollectPlus Send and Return parcels will continue to be collected from our stores, whilst Click & Collect orders from CollectPlus retail partners will continue to be delivered into our stores on a daily basis for customer collection. Our priority is to our customers and our retail clients and we are working closely with Yodel to ensure all parcels are delivered as soon as possible.”

Whilst on one hand I’m a little sceptical and think that Black Friday (which was nearly two weeks ago) shouldn’t still be a factor, it’s also clear that all carriers are struggling in some way with what appears to be an massive and unexpected surge in online shopping this year.

And whilst these delays are a pain, we should at least toast the cause.
