56% of John Lewis Christmas 2014 online sales were Click & Collect

Retailer John Lewis has been leading the way in online sales on the High Street for some years. They have proven to be both imaginative and innovative. And their 2014 Chrstmas season hasn’t been a disappointment.

In the five weeks to 27th December total like-for-like sales rose 4.8% to £777m for the John Lewis Group. Apparently in-shop sales did not grow but online purchases increased 19% on 2013 numbers.

56% of online sales were Click & Collect and that overtook last mile home deliveries.

John Lewis did best on electrical and home technology products were the best sellers and finished with a 6.8% year-on-year rise for the five-week period. Homewares were up 2.3%, Fashion and beauty was up 7.8%.
