Re/code reports that Amazon looks like it’s working on a new, specialist platform honed at inventors and offering them a tailored means of selling their new and innovative products. You can read the full piece here.
Re/code says of the purpose of the venture: “Amazon is attempting to build close relationships with young, promising hardware and electronics companies — think robotic toys, fitness and health gadgets — with the goal of convincing them to build their business using Amazon as the main sales channel.”
It sounds like a good idea and could surely be part of a wider strategy of taking on the micro-investment platforms too so that inventors could also plug into Amazon to get funding to develop their bright ideas and also then move quickly selling them via Amazon too.
