Amazon is extending its Amazon Prime Now service to Dallas Texas in the US taking the total of areas covered to four. Amazon Prime Now already serves New York City, Miami and Baltimore and more locales are to be added to that list in 2015.
Amazon Prime Now is a premium service for Amazon Prime customers that offers delivery of a selection of domestic goods within two hours for free. If you want your purchase within the hour then there’s a $7.99 premium. It’s another example of Amazon “adding value” to the Amazon Prime proposition.
Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, noted that Dallas was an obvious choice for inclusion in Amazon Now because it already has two depots in the area. He said: “We know Dallas members are going to love the convenience of one-hour delivery through Prime Now. Our existing operations in Dallas-area that utilize advanced technology to fulfill customer orders are now home to a Prime Now hub that is fueling this super-fast delivery.”
