How’s it going with #vatmoss?

No primary category set

The new EU VAT regulations came into force on January 1st 2015. So that means that now many of you will be using the VAT mini one stop shop (VATMOSS) for filing your EU VAT returns for digital products for the first time.

Have you tried it out?

It seems that it’s up and operational but has an array of foibles and I was particularly cross to read of one trader who had gone through the rigamarole to register, and get set up on there, just so he could declare a single sale to Finland and pay 23p.

Whilst there is some hope that the European Commission might be considering a review of the situation, at the moment, sadly, we have to live with the system as it stands.

And some interesting little aspects of the #VATMOSS have been detailed by Taxamo article called: Lesser known requirements of VAT MOSS returns.
