35% of sellers say Amazon Product Ads work for them

At the end of October Amazon will be shutting down their Products Ads service. We reported same on Tamebay a few weeks back.

(Bear in mind that this is a closure concerning Product Ads, not Amazon Sponsored Ads.)

As the email to Amazon partners reads: “Effective October 31, 2015, we will be discontinuing Amazon Product Ads. While your ads will no longer be visible on Amazon as of that date, you may access your performance reports through December 31, 2015. Any unused promotional credit will expire at latest on October 31, 2015.”

So it was interesting to read this post from BigCommerce confirming what several Tamebay readers had said: Amazon Product Ads worked well for sellers. So it’s interesting to speculate why Amazon is shutting the scheme down.

According to the post 35% say Amazon Product Ads offered the best return on investment to Amazon sellers and in the article they explore some of the possible alternatives.

Sellers who have had some success with the programme in the past (one claims to have enjoyed a 80% uplift) will need to find other ways to promote there sales. What are your plans?
