Amazon.com have introduced new shipping settings enabling you to provide much more flexible/accurate shipping times for your US customers when shipping directly to your US customers from the UK.
The new Amazon.com shipping settings let you:
- Customise your shipping settings to match your fulfilment capabilities
- Set different shipping charges for Two-Day shipping by State (US sellers only)
- Set international shipping charges by country
- Set different shipping settings for different sets of SKUs
Shipping can also be broken down into settings for ‘Continental US Street’, ‘Alaska and Hawaii Street’ and ‘Alaska and Hawaii PO Box’.
The real bonus here is the ability to set different shipping rules for different types of product by SKU. This means that if you have some light weight easy to ship fast products and other heavier items which will need a longer transit time you can now segment them with. It also means that if some of your products are in locations with faster dispatch to the States you can offer them with a speedier delivery promise than those you know will take longer to arrive.
This is something that would be great if it came to the UK, for instance the ability to segment shipments to Mainland UK from those going to the Highlands and Islands which we know often take longer to arrive and (with some couriers) incur a surcharge too.
If you’d like to learn more, Amazon are holding a webinar – “How to Use the Shipping Templates Feature on Amazon.com” on Wednesday 30th September starting at 3pm UK time.
Many thanks to Tamebay reader Bernard for the heads up on the Amazon US shipping changes.
