Amazon to launch $5 Spotify challenger tied to Echo

No primary category set

It has been reported that Amazon is going to launch a new subscription music streaming service in September. It will likely hit the States before we see it on this side of the Atlantic.

Of course, you can already plug into music with Amazon via Amazon Prime. In the UK Prime costs £79. But the new service will only set you back $10 in the first instance.

The new Amazon streaming service will supposedly take two forms. It will be $10 a month for general subscribers but just $5 for those who access it via Amazon Echo, sometimes called Amazon Alexa.

It’s clear that Amazon is pushing the Amazon Echo opportunities with this new service.
