Amazon are continuing to expand their Prime Now service outwards from the centre of London. The latest areas to get access to the service are selected postcodes in Edgeware, Enfield and Watford.
“Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and we are delighted to bring it to new areas like North London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex. From today, even more Prime customers can get the items they need quickly delivered right to the door in under an hour” said Jason Weston, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service in the UK.
With Prime Now available in Prime Now in selected postcodes in London, Surrey, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Portsmouth, South Yorkshire and Glasgow. That may seem like a pretty restricted set of areas and suggest that Prime Now is a bit of an experiment. If you think that you couldn’t be more wrong. Prime Now is available to a massive 30% of the UK population.
That’s almost 1 in 3 people in the country who an buy from Amazon and have their order, selected from more than 15,000 popular items, delivered within the hour.
Tesco are offering same day click and collect, as are Sainsbury’s. They’re all making a big shout out about their services but the truth is that none of them are able to offer delivery within the hour to 30% of the UK population. Amazon is winning our business for thousands of items, including essentials such as nappies, coffee and fresh milk, as well as other popular items like games consoles, toys, gifts and sports equipment.
