eBay have renewed their 12 year old agreement with Terapeak to continue sharing eBay marketplace to power Terapeak’s research tools.
The new agreement enables Terapeak to continue to provide their tools for analyzing e-commerce activity, enabling eBay sellers to understand product supply and demand within the eBay marketplace. Terapeak analyzes more than 4.6 billion transactions per year and over $70 billion in online consumer spending to provide marketplace intelligence. They have for many years been the only company to licence data direct from eBay but also provide Amazon seller tools plus seamless Alibaba sourcing.
Bob Kupbens, eBay Vice President of Business-to-Consumer Selling said “A significant number of sellers rely on Terapeak to make decisions around what to sell and how to sell on our platform. We look forward to building our relationship with Terapeak under this new agreement, and providing a data framework that supports the goal of making eBay merchants more successful“.
eBay have for many years struggled to create their own analytic tools to support sellers but in truth they’ve never been a patch on Terapeak. Even today serious sellers will have a Terapeak subscription and whilst their research offering is invaluable for fixed price commodity sellers it’s irreplaceable for sellers of rare or one off collectibles who can find trending prices and realistic expectations of how to price their goods.
