Amazon have expanded their that Amazon Fresh delivery areas to now cover 260 postcodes. The service now available in selected postcodes in Hampshire for the first time. This latest expansion means that Prime members from Woking to Guildford to Basingstoke (but as usual not Thatcham where I live) can order their their full weekly grocery shop from Amazon.
AmazonFresh offers fast and flexible delivery with one-hour delivery slots available from 7am to 11pm, seven days a week. It’s possible to order your groceries at lunch time and have them delivered in time for dinner.
Amazon Prime members in eligible postcodes can sign up now for a 30-day free trial of AmazonFresh. AmazonFresh is then available to Amazon Prime members for £6.99 per month with unlimited delivery for orders above £40. AmazonFresh is available via the Amazon website or the mobile app.
I’ve been asked a few times why I keep writing about AmazonFresh, Amazon Pantry, The Grand Tour and similar non marketplace topics. The reason is that this is what your customers are signing up for and if they’re an AmazonFresh customer you can be pretty sure that they’re also buying with their Amazon Prime accounts.
Customers with Prime are looking for their free next day deliveries. They’ve paid a subscription so why wouldn’t they? If they’re anything like me when they go shopping on Amazon they tick the box to say ‘Only show me stuff with free next day delivery’ and if your products aren’t in FBA or you’re on the seller fulfilled FBA program then you simply won’t be seen.
FBA does have a cost, but often due to Amazon’s delivery prowess could be less than you’d pay in courier charges yourself. It’s fast changing from an option to an absolute pre-requisite, we might not like that, but if you want to tap into AmazonFresh customers it’s possibly the only way to go.
