To mark 10 years of Amazon Prime in the UK, Amazon has revealed the greatest hits and highlights of Prime over the last decade with Adele’s album “25”, the Fire TV Stick, the Frozen DVD and Cards Against Humanity amongst the most purchased items through One-Day Delivery in the last 10 years.
To celebrate the decade milestone and to thank some of its most loyal customers, Amazon has identified 10 small UK “Prime Villages” and is giving all households there Amazon Prime membership for a year.
The 10 villages, whose residents have been amongst the most frequent Amazon customers over the past decade, will receive Prime membership for one year and that includes existing Prime members, who will receive 12 months on top of their current subscription.
Residents in the 10 “Prime Villages” are already making the most of Prime, with Amazon customers in these locations more likely to be Prime members than the UK average.
“We’re thrilled to be giving Prime membership to these residents, who are some of our most loyal Amazon customers,” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon. “It’s our pleasure to reward those who are already members with 12 additional months on us, and for those that haven’t yet tried Prime we hope they will enjoy a chance to experience all the great benefits that come with it.”
Households in the following 10 villages will this week receive a unique code to unlock their free one year Amazon Prime membership:
Calvert Green, Buckinghamshire
Churchover, Warwickshire
Daresbury, Cheshire
Garvald and Bara, East Lothian
Holwell, Hertfordshire
Kirkton of Tough, Aberdeenshire
Llanwern, Newport
Marloes and St. Brides, Pembrokeshire
Roughfort, County Antrim
Rubane, County Down
We’d love to hear from any Tamebay readers who will benefit from this promo. Have you got a freebie? And, perhaps, more interestingly, if you do live in these places and don’t get a code, we’d love to hear from you too.

I always thought it would be good if Amazon gave us sellers free ‘Prime’. We pay enough in fees annually!
I live in one of the Amazon Prime villages but am not being offered 12 months free. Apparently my postcode does not qualify. Our village is so small that it’s name doesn’t appear in our address when you look up the post code with Royal Mail. So there is no such thing as a free lunch after all!
