Delivery firm Yodel has launched a new service called Xpect Returns. It’s a collection service for sending returns to online retailers. Shoppers can have their returns picked-up from their location within an allocated a two-hour collection window.
Xpect Returns, which is currently only available through a limited number of retailers, ensures that the parcels are returned to the retailer within 72 hours of collection. Parcels can be collected the next day, or on a day of choosing. The service also sends notifications through the mobile app, email or text to both shoppers and retailers, to serve as tracking.
Yodel CEO Andrew Peeler says of the new service: “The launch of Xpect Returns represents our ongoing investment in providing a flexible offering for both our customers and retailers. The newly enhanced service will make the process of returning an item as simple and familiar as a delivery.”
The company says the new offering Peeler came about as a result of customer feedback from users from the Have Your Say survey. This collates information from over 7000 customers each day. Peeler says: “These insights revealed that nearly 40 percent of consumers prefer unwanted items to be collected from them over any other returns channel, so we are confident that this service will prove a popular choice for many of our retail clients and their customers.”
It’s not clear if this service will roll out and become available to all online sellers and how it would work in terms of expense.
