According to a recent blog post there is an up and coming online eBay bootcamp training series starting soon that has the aim of helping sellers get started and develop their sales and selling skills. You can find out more information here.
It’s entirely free and over the course of 4 weeks you will be able to read listen and view help content as part of the course and also discuss it, and your questions, with other participants. It looks like it will be focussed on entry-level and fledgling sellers. But most likely there will be some stuff of interest to even the most seasoned of merchants who are experienced eBay sellers.
Here’s what they about the eBay bootcamp and the aims:
The lessons will be taught via video, blog posts, and Seller Center pages, which you can consume at a time that works for you. You’ll also be given assignments; you might be asked to think about your business strategy or dive deep into your business metrics and analyze your numbers.
These weekly assignments will help you activate what you’ve just learned in the lesson, and gain confidence in your selling expertise. Throughout the week, you can also bring your knowledge to the next level by chatting about all you’ve learned with your eBay community in a dedicated forum just for Boot Camp participants. We’ll also be coaching you on our weekly video lessons, so we can answer your questions as you have them.
– eBay announcement
2018 is going to be a big year of change at eBay. Over the next few years, and starting in the next few months, the way payments are dealt with on the marketplace will change as the transition from PayPal to Adyen happens. And, whilst that is the headline grabbing change, plenty more other developments are expected. So it might not be any bad thing to re-examine what eBay is saying about the eBay basics.
We expect that the eBay bootcamp content will be USA centric but that’s not to mean you won’t pick up some useful nuggets.
