Ecommerce webshop provider Intershop has reported that 2017 was a year of accelerating growth and they have bigger ambitions for 2018. The German based company said earnings (before interest and taxes) increased from -2.4 million euros in 2016 to 0.4 million in 2017.

The ecommerce software provider said the 5% increase in revenue is a result of “the positive trend in licensing revenues and to a sharp rise in full-service revenues”. But product developments and new features have also been critical in attracting new customers to the service.

Last year marked the first success of our ‘Lighthouse 2020’ strategy. Our key task for this year will be to accelerate the expansion of the SaaS solutions business, as we expect this market to achieve the highest growth rates.

Our cloud solution makes it easier to take the first step and this has led to many new customers, which otherwise wouldn’t were able to reach. In 2016, we welcomed twelve new customers, while during the first nine months of 2017, we already had twenty new customers. We want to continue to grow in the future, if possible faster than before.
– Intershop CEO Jochen Wiechen

In particular, the Benelux zone is where the solutions provider will be concentrating efforts, with a significant proportion of their newer customers coming from the Netherlands. Are you an Intershop provider and how do you rate the service?
