Amazon have just announced that Alexa and Amazon Echo for France are now available. Developers around the world have already created skills and Alexa-enabled devices for French customers.
“Tens of millions of customers around the world are already using Alexa, and today we’re excited to introduce Alexa to our customers in France. We’ve built an entirely new experience from the ground up that honors the French language and culture, allowing customers to just ask to get music, weather, news, information, and more–just by asking. And there are already hundreds of skills for French customers from some of the most popular brands in France.”
– Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, Amazon Devices International
Amazon Echo for France will be sold at €99,99 with the Amazon Dot available at €59,99. Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Spot can be pre-ordered today at www.amazon.fr/echo, www.amazon.fr/echodot and www.amazon.fr/echospot . Echo and Echo Dot will be shipped from June 13, and Echo Spot deliveries will follow.
Echo devices are the most popular voice-activated speakers in the world: in 2017 alone, tens of millions of Echo devices were sold. Alexa arrives in France having been completely redesigned for France, including a new French voice, a help in French, local knowledge and several hundred skills devised for France by developers.
We already know that Amazon Echo owners are Amazon’s most loyal customers and doubtless ownership of an Echo device will boost French consumer’s spend on Amazon. If you don’t already list directly on Amazon France in the French language, now would be the time to consider doing so, especially if you already use Amazon FBA to fulfil orders.
