Amazon have launched a new Marketplace Appstore on Amazon.com alongside a new advisory board known as the Amazon Marketplace Developer Council. The aim is to work with third party developers and assist them in providing world class services for Amazon merchants. Amazon want to forge closer tie with the developer community. It’s distinctly separate from Amazon Solution Provider Network where developers create external tools which hook into Amazon APIs – the new Marketplace Appstore is embedded right into Amazon and is deeply connected directly into Amazon.
“The Marketplace Appstore is a new site on Seller Central that features Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS) applications created by Amazon and external developers for Amazon sellers. The Appstore is currently in public beta and participation by developers is by invitation only.”
– Amazon
We know a ton of developers have been invited to join the Amazon Marketplace Developer Council, but the first we’ve seen officially announce the launch of their Amazon Marketplace App is ChannelAdvisor.
“The tools provided in the Marketplace Appstore will help sellers optimize their end-to-end selling capabilities through increased automation, deeper reporting, smarter repricing and more.”
ChannelAdvisor is proud to include our ChannelAdvisor Marketplaces solution in the new Marketplace Appstore.”

Many of ChannelAdvisor’s features which users will be familiar with on their SAAS solution will be available throught their new Amazon Appstore offering, including: Algorithmic Repricer for Amazon; Competitive Environment Dashboard for Amazon; Marketplaces Benchmarking; Demand Forecaster; FBA Inventory Management; Enhanced Fulfillment Network; as well as product-level performance reports, inventory management.
Currently, the Amazon Appstore is only available in the US and can be accessed through your Amazon.com Seller Central Account.
