Health and lifestyle retailers offered new niche marketplace

No primary category set

Niche producers of health, beauty and wellness products are being given a ‘no risk’ opportunity to increase sales and awareness of their healthy lifestyle goods by online marketplace Makesmehealthy.com

The site, which launches in October, offers small to medium producers a greater chance of their products reaching the dedicated target audience as it tackles the issue of smaller brands being ‘lost’ in much larger online retail websites.

With no set-up fees and a no sale, no fee policy for sellers, Makesmehealthy.com aims to establish itself as the No 1 marketplace to showcase and promote natural, organic and innovative health and wellness brands and retailers.

To achieve that aim, it is actively seeking retailers that have products that cover six broad areas – bars and snacks, food and drink, beauty and wellbeing, natural nutrition, sports supplements and vitamin supplements with more categories in the pipeline – to ahead of concerted PR campaign to consumers.

Amongst the brands already on the site are food delights from Elements for Life and Creative Nature, natural beauty products from Alasalla and A Glimpse of Beauty, sports nutrition from Saturo foods and natural well-being supplement Uplift.

The website has been developed by Jaspal Singh Nijjar and Dan Duggan, who hope the attractive combination of no-risk listings, low fees, marketing opportunities plus a fulfilment and distribution service coming in 2019, will have major appeal.

“Our mission with MakesMeHealthy is to offer a visible, proactive marketplace for the best start-ups & innovative brands in the health, beauty and wellbeing sector. Small, niche brands have difficulty getting their products in front of a large target audience and we are looking forward to helping them overcome that challenge. We want to work closely with these brands, build a relationship with them, and give them a platform that will work for them and their products. It can be extremely difficult for start-ups who have little to no budget, which is why the site has no set-up fees and offers ‘no sale, no fee’ terms, while those that sell through the site will see lower fees than a more well-known ecommerce site. There is also significant free marketing through our various channels including social media, influencer reach, email marketing, onsite content and off-site partnerships. We are also working on other developments, such as a mobile app and the fulfilment service, that means retailers can increase brand awareness, exposure, sales, and profitability.”

One of the new marketplace’s new customers is Uplift. It’s founder, Sundar Viswanathan  believes that a niche marketplace is the way ahead for a number of reasons.

“I have had my products listed on Amazon but have had very little success in terms of sales. What sales I do get, I am seeing very little margin due to the costs. We’re a small brand just starting out in the UK, so to be able to sell on a dedicated marketplace that fits our target audience made perfect business sense. We have no up-front fees and only pay commission on sales, so that again is ideal for us as we build a customer base.I am sure MakesMeHealthy will benefit many similar businesses to us, who are looking to increase sales of their products.”
– Sundar Viswanathan, founder, Uplift

MakesMeHealthy will provide support to all retailers, who will get their own ‘easy-to-use’ admin portal that will enable sellers to create their own store.

Retailers who are interested in selling their products on the site can find our more information at https://makesmehealthy.com/sell-with-us/
