Amazon Prime Wardrobe try before you buy service now live in the UK

Amazon Prime Wardrobe has rolled out in the UK. Having launched fully launched in the US in June this year following trials in 2017, the try before you buy service is now live on Amazon UK.

The offer is to pick between three and eight self curated items to create your look and have them shipped to you to try on in the comfort of your own home. Keep what you want, return what you want with no guilt, just a provided Royal Mail returns label and resealable bag.

Returns are easy – you have seven days to try items on and if you don’t want to keep them notify Amazon within the seven days or you’ll be billed. For anything you want to return you have a further seven days to get to the Post Office or a Royal Mail depot to get your returns in the post. Returns need to be in saleable condition with tags on and in their original packaging, including: hangers, bags, shoe boxes, dust bags, and gift boxes. Items must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and undamaged.

There are around 4,000 Amazon own brand fashion items included in the Prime Wardrobe selection, as well as almost 10,000 products from popular brands.

This is a serious expansion of Amazon’s fashion empire in the UK, bring the in store experience of trying clothes on in the home. The try before you buy service is inevitably going to generate massive numbers of returns which will need to be processed, but once consumers get hooked on the ability to have a new Prime Wardrobe delivered the next day.

Products eligible for Prime Wardrobe all appear to be sold by and despatched by Amazon, although some size options aren’t always available and then offered from other retailers but excluded from the Prime Wardrobe offer, so there will be some overflow to benefit Amazon merchants. However, if you really want to be a part of Amazon Prime Wardrobe then ideally you’d want to become a fashion supplier to Amazon Retail through the Amazon Vendor programme

To celebrate the launch of Prime Wardrobe, there’s an introductory offer for Prime members where they save £5 when they keep products worth £100 or more and save £20 when they keep products worth £200 and more.
