Postage and parcel provider One World Express has been declared as Canada Post’s first authorised service provider in the UK for their Direct to Canada “Expedited Domestic” tracked parcel solution. That will likely be useful to British based merchants as the strikes within the service persist. The postal union CUPW has been making rotating industrial action for roughly 5 weeks.
Crucially for ecommerce merchants and online retailers there is a massive backlog of mail which is not expected to cleared now until 2019 and with Black Friday and Cyber Weekend promotions fully underway, it seems likely that those backlogs will increase.
The one World Express partnership will offer a new way to ship to Canada from the UK as the strikes persist and beyond:
