Amazon Live streaming for brands on Amazon.com

No primary category set

Amazon have a new marketing option for Brands and Retailers – Amazon Live. It’s a new video streaming service, loosely related to TV shopping channels such as QVC, where Brands can tout their wares to the ever voracious Amazon consumer base.

Amazon Live enables brands to livestream directly to Amazon.com and the Amazon mobile app. Livestreaming fills the gap between the product and the brand enabling suppliers to tell their brand story, showcase their products, and interact with shoppers in real time, all while driving sales. You can stream for free on your products’ detail pages, your Brand Store, and on Amazon.com/live. And of course, Amazon are never to miss a trick with advertising revenue so you can also pay to boost your livestream to reach even more Amazon shoppers.

During your livestream, shoppers can chat with you and other shoppers. Products you chose to feature in your stream can be found next to the video player, making it easy for shoppers to add them to their cart. Videos will be streamed live but also archived on Amazon for customers to re-watch at a later date. It’s worth noting that multiple videos can stream live so Amazon customers can pick and choose what to watch according to their interests.

Creating an Amazon Live stream

Getting started only takes a few taps on a new Amazon Live Creator Apple app. You can stream directly from your phone or set up a livestreaming encoder and use a professional camera. There are tools to help you analyze your performance and improve your next livestream with built-in analytics.

Amazon Live Stream qualifications

Amazon won’t let just anyone create Live Stream videos. The Amazon Live Creator app is currently available to Professional Sellers that are enrolled in Amazon’s Brand Registry.

Livestreaming from China or Hong Kong “is currently not supported” according to Amazon – otherwise the site would doubtless be deluged with streams from the Far East where live streaming is a heavily accepted part of ecommerce.
