A Co-op emission neutral plan will see two-hour ‘green’ deliveries via e-cargobikes.com to shoppers in London.
The new initiative is initially available to shoppers within 4km of the Co-op’s store on the Kings Road in Chelsea, before being rolled out to further London stores.
Co-op have announced today the emission neutral delivery service via a www.shop.coop.co.uk dedicated website. Shoppers will see groceries delivered to homes or officers within two-hours.
The technology behind the scheme is e-cargobikes, which can deliver the same amount as a conventional 3.5-tonne diesel-van over eight-hour shift whilst requiring less than 0.5% of the energy.

this will only create more plastic packaging in store to facilitate easier delivery
bet the guy on the bike produces grand amounts of methane exhaust fumes, on the fuel needed to peddle that beast for 8 hours
Royal Mail posties all over the country have been doing something similar for a few hundred years without the bike
