Amazon today announced their plans to establish local, convenient health care centers near Amazon fulfillment centers and operations facilities across the U.S. in a collaborating with Crossover Health. Amazon says the Neighborhood Health Center Pilot Program will aid Amazon staff health and wellness.
Through this initial phase of the program, Amazon expects to establish 20 health centers in five cities across the U.S., improving access and care for more than 115,000 associates and their families in in Phoenix, Arizona; Louisville, Kentucky; Detroit, Michigan; the San Bernardino-Moreno Valley area in California, and the Dallas-Fort Worth location. If the pilot is successful, Amazon will look to roll out similar facilities in other cities and states.

Providing cheaper and more efficient healthcare options to their staff will be a great incentive for present and future employees, it will also help Amazon ensure their staff are healthy and happy. Amazon staff health care centers will build, they say, on their long-standing commitment to offering employees comprehensive and industry-leading benefits, beginning on day one.
Interestingly Amazon’s successful ventures tend to be a trigger for growth, expansion, and monetized scale, this process has seen the birth of services such as AWS, Amazon FBA, and Amazon shipping. Could the destiny of their health care collaboration be bigger than what is being let on? It wouldn’t be surprising especially if we consider that they already have their own pharmaceutical brand ‘Basic care’ that began rolling out in the U.S. in 2018.
