Amazon France FBA to make disposal inventory available to Charities

No primary category set

Rather than dump unsaleable inventory housed in Amazon France FBA, from the 20th of September 2020, Amazon will automatically make eligible inventory available for donation to local charitable organizations when you choose to dispose of items in France.

By partnering with selected charitable organizations, Amazon France FBA is to help remove supply chain, language and cost barriers to the donation process. You may also benefit from special VAT exemptions for donations. Usual disposal fees will apply. More information, including the list of charities, is available on the FBA Donations program page.

Donation receipts for the donated inventory will be available starting in January, for donations made in 2020. Donation receipts will be generated based on your business information in Seller Central. Make sure your business information is accurate by verifying or updating it on the Business Address page. Note that we will not be able to reissue the donation receipts.

It’s still unclear what will happen to your inventory in EU FBA warehouses as of the 1st of January 2021, when PAN-European FBA ceases to include the UK. We suspect that Amazon will start to run down inventory or repatriate it in Q4 which could impact your Christmas sales. However, at least for stock in Amazon France FBA, if you decide to have your inventory disposed of it could be going to assist a good cause.
