New cycling accessories category on Amazon with 8% referral fee

No primary category set

Last summer, Boris begged us not to use public transport and instead told us to get out cycles out with £50 vouchers to get our bikes repaired if they had been gathering dust. Whist many will have paused their bicylist enthusiasm over the winter months, with Spring on the way and lock down not fully ending until the 21st of June this year at the earliest cycling accessories will be hotter than ever over the coming months.

To help sellers of cycling accessories, Amazon are now creating a new Cycling Accessories category and lowering the referral fee for items sold in this category. Effective from the 1st of April 2021, the referral fee will be 8% across all Amazon UK and European marketplaces. However for those countries where Amazon is subject to a digital services tax they will of course add this onto the 8% fee (2% in the UK and 3% in France, Italy and Spain).

The previous fee was 15% of the total sales price. The total sales price is the price paid by the buyer, including item price and any shipping or gift wrap charges.
