eBay host Preloved Love Island Party

Love Island Party Outfits

Last night, … eBay hosted the first Love Island party of the series as the islanders embraced the 90s, wearing Versace, Levi’s, Ralph and more, all from eBay UK.

Inspired by the 90s, the Islanders took their pick from the shared villa wardrobe, sourced by  eBay’s Pre-loved Fashion Stylist Amy Bannerman. At the Love Island party, they dazzled in neon mini dresses, tie dye prints, fluffy bucket hats, cut off denim, oversized bomber jackets and knee high boots.

Stand out looks at the 90s party include loved-up Lana who wore a white Versace dress with zip detailing. Newcomer Jessie who had a tough decision to make also opted for the sought-after designer as she donned a stunning Versus Versace denim dress. Shaq showed off his moves at tonight’s pre-loved party in a pink Levi’s vintage denim jacket, while Zara dressed to impress in a burgundy Meshki PVC co-ord. And finally Ron opted to keep it cool in a vintage Levi’ sleeveless denim jacket from eBay.

As a 90s girl, I was particularly excited to see the Islanders all looking so stylish in pre-loved for the 90s themed party, embracing designer pieces from Versace Jeans, to Paris Texas, Palace and vintage Levis. It really does go to show the vast majority of styles and sought-after brands you can get on eBay – there really are no limits when it comes to pre-loved! The Islanders looked incredible and I loved seeing Lana wearing the same white satin Versace mini dress that Indiyah wore last season. This was my dream for the clothes to be reworn in this way, true circularity. Will’s fluffy hat is a real fashion moment for me too, especially styled with another luxury shirt!

eBay Search Impact

For some, the fascination with Love Island will be a mystery, for others it will be compulsive viewing, but what eBay’s goal really is is to attract a new audience to the marketplace, one who are heavily engaged with reality TV influencers and who are open to shopping preloved and imperfects. This new audience is one worth marketing to, and regardless whether you sell new, imperfect, refurbished or used, bringing a new generation of buyer to eBay for the first time should result in a new demographic shopping on the marketplace with natural spill over across all categories.

Just like the Islanders, viewers at home are showing that 90s looks aren’t just for the screen, with searches soaring on eBay by 162% for neon crop tops, 53% more searches for Levis and 118% more searches for bright shirts.

On a mission to turn heads in more than one way, the items sourced from eBay are being worn in a bid to encourage shoppers to choose pre-loved first and make more conscious fashion choices to extend the life cycle of these stylish garms.
