ChannelX World is over for 2023, but was an amazing time of sharing knowledge and experience within the industry and our huge thanks to the fantastic speaker line up of which there were fifty throughout the day!
Thanks also to our headline sponsor TikTok Shop, our track sponsors, Arcadier, Amazon Shipping, ChannelAdvisor, Getida, imagino and Marketplacer, and of course to the dozens of industry professionals manning the stands in the exhibition area.
However, our greatest thanks to you the hundreds of attendees, who were evicted from the building during the opening plenary session due to an unscheduled fire alarm, for sticking around and coming back in for the rest of the day. In two decades of attending and hosting conferences this was a first for the team and me, but with some faultless rescheduling from those working in the background the conference was back in full swing and we’d caught up by lunch time!
The conference was opened by the amazing Charlotte Munro (above) from Booking.com, sharing how AI is powering marketplace search, with TikTok Shop’s Fred Fishlock then joined by retailers George Robinson and Arjun Sofat (below) revealing the phenomenal growth this new channel has to offer.
Then eBay’s Eve Williams, Auto Trader’s Ian Plummer, H&M’s Kimmo Jukuri and Rokt’s Tim Crouch examined delicate task of balancing supply and demand on marketplaces. This session came to an abrupt halt when the fire alarm went off, but soon dozens more took to the stage to share their hard won experiences.
Finishing the day, John Thornton, Senior Creative, at Surreal delivered a laughter filled closing keynote, revealing how chaos is a legitimate social media strategy, how breaking the rules gets results, especially on LinkedIn. If you missed this one, you missed a fantastic close to the day but also some incredibly effective real world tips for getting noticed on social!
We’ll be back with ChannelX World in 2024, and in the meantime download our latest European Marketplaces Report which was launched at the conference.
