Inpost is a relatively new locker service, where you’re able to take drop your parcel off so you do not need to wait in for collection. You can find the lockers at local supermarkets and petrol stations, and they are identifiable by the yellow and black Inpost logo.
It’s a “locker to home” service with a standard next working day delivery (there may be an additional day if the courier has already emptied the locker that day). InPost parcel lockers are open 24/7 with no queues and you can track your parcel from the moment it’s dispatched. If you drop your parcels off early in the morning before the courier collects your parcel may be delivered as early as the next day – ideal for casual sellers who can despatch on their way to work in the morning.
One of the great things about InPost is the speed, you can collect a parcel from an InPost locker in as little as seven seconds and sending a parcel is just as fast. Whilst the majority of small online retailers may want to use the service for sending parcels, you can integrate InPost into your website as a delivery to locker service for customers to collect the goods they order at a time convenient to them.
Currently InPost use CityLink for deliveries with costs for a locker to home delivery starting at £1.99 plus VAT for a 1kg parcel and £2.95 for a 2kg parcel. You can send items weighing up to 20kg and each Inpost station contains at least 42 lockers (more in busy locations) so there should always be space for multiple parcels.
Don’t think that InPost is a new start up company though, they operate in 20 countries from Australia to Chile and are on their way to having 16,000 parcel lockers throughout Europe of which 2,000 are being deployed in the UK.
Watch out for special promotions on InPost’s service, currently Parcel2Go have an offer of £1.59 plus VAT for a 1kg parcel, £2.59 for 2kg, £3.99 for 5kg and £4.55 for up to 20kg. Each InPost locker has a variety of sized cubbyholes ranging up to 41 x 38 x 64 cm dimensions.
If you have any problems using an InPost locker there’s always a phone number displayed so that you can get instant assistance. The lockers are also monitored 24/7 with remote assistance available.
To send your first parcel with InPost check for where your nearest locker location is, register on their website and print a label (or use Parcel2Go), and simply drop your package off later today when you pass by your chosen locker location.
We know this service may not be suitable for high volume sellers, but for low volume sellers it beats waiting in a Post Office queue, is a tracked service so great for eBay or Amazon sales, allows you to drop parcels off at any time of the day or night and most important of all is at a great price point.

We used these guys for a short while for direct orders, but every single order that wanted delivery to one of these boxes turned out to be from a fraudulent credit card purchase and subsequently we stopped offering the service.
No fault of InPost of course, but it should be noted that scammers do enjoy using these pick up services for obvious reasons. Be careful.

Could be an issue for any pick-up location that is not the cardholders address though.
