No primary category set

Aldi, which we predominantly know as a supermarket here in the UK, is spreading its wings in Germany and taking on Amazon. It has already launched a music streaming service called Life Musik called by Napster.

And this week, to coincide with the Frankfurt Book Fair, they are launching an ebook service with one million e-books at hand and a tablet too. According to reports the primary reason for this venture is to build its digital subscriber base and connect with younger consumers.

The tablet Aldi will sell from Thursday is a Medion E6912. This 7 inch tablet costs 129 euros and that includes a €10 voucher for eBooks and Life Musik free for 60 days.
