UR launch urBusiness refurbished marketplace

UR who have run a tech and refurbished devices consumer marketplace for 14 years, have announced the launch of urBusiness, a new business focused marketplace proposition, aimed at transforming the refurbished handset sector for the Telecoms and IT channels.

With the introduction of its Business Premium+ range and a new intuitive and efficient portal, the company addresses long-standing issues of quality concerns, inconsistency, reliability and trust that have plagued the refurbished market for B2B channels.

Introducing a new level of confidence and flexibility for the channel, urBusiness not only have the flagship range of Business Premium+ which includes 24 months warranty, a case, protective screen and minimum of 90% battery health, but they also carry the more traditional refurbished graded handsets, with the same commitment to quality and customer experience. All urPhones, regardless of grade, have premium packaging to reassure quality of product to all business customers.

urPortal: A smooth and seamless product management interface

The newly designed platform, urPortal, is tailored to provide users with a streamlined and seamless experience to ensure stakeholders can add to their product portfolio with confidence, and have all necessary controls in place.

The portal is designed for easy navigation, allowing users to not only purchase refurbished handsets but also trade-in and repair, whilst enjoying full transparency and confidence in supply, with the ability to tailor or integrate as necessary. From the moment they log in to the final checkout, users can navigate complete visibility of product, stock and pricing and a commitment to superior service whilst also being empowered to make informed, confident sales decisions.

14 years in the making

For 14 yearsUr.co.uk, has built its reputation on stringent quality controls and a rigorous testing process from its UK based teams of technicians, ensuring every device sold achieves the highest standards and not only meets, but exceeds expectations. Through this new initiative, business customers via channel partners, are guaranteed reliable and consistent product performance. Each handset is carefully inspected, tested, and certified, providing peace of mind and trust for every purchase.

We’re excited to unveil a game-changing solution that tackles the biggest challenges telecoms and IT partners face when buying refurbished devices and embracing the circular economy.

Our portal empowers partners to buy, trade-in, and offer repairs with total confidence—delivering premium devices at competitive prices, without compromise. This has taken years in the planning to empower the telecoms industry to have more confidence in making the right steps towards a more sustainable future.

– Barry Poke, CEO of ur.co.uk

Driving sustainability through circularity

In addition to solving consumer pain points, urBusiness is committed to its sustainability practices by planting a tree for every handset purchased and five for each traded in. Through promoting refurbished handsets, the company, its partners, and customers reduce e-waste and extend the lifecycle of smartphones, providing a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to new devices.

To spearhead the development of the urBusiness offering, the group have hired Angie Ablard, former Head of Sales for Small & Medium Business at Virgin Media O2.

Breaking the stigma around refurbished phones and devices for business is smart and essential for driving a more sustainable future, but most people know this and that has not necessarily been the problem that needed solving. Historically, the inconsistency of supply and quality has made opting for the sustainable choice unnerving in the past, with confidence of the experience for the B2B customer being low. It’s time to shift that confidence—in our case refurbished doesn’t mean second-rate; it means commercially smarter, greener, and just as reliable.

– Angie Ablard, Director of Channel Development for urBusiness
