This is a bit of a coup for Luze Collective as it starts to solve the problem of how they can source ever greater quantities of handbags to grow their business.
Launching initially for designer handbags, eBay can now help consumers to list and sell their new and pre-owned handbags from top brands across all price points including Chanel, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton.
From its launch in the US, items sold through eBay consignment are seeing significantly higher final sale prices, than those listed traditionally on eBay. For example, a small quilted Chanel 19 flap bag sold for over 45% more than the average sales price for similar bags on the marketplace.
With a potential 45% uplift in price, the consumer will be sacrificing some of the proceeds to Luxe Collective who will take from 40% of the sale proceeds dropping to 20% for more expensive products. Realistically, the uplift in sales price will be more or less wiped out by the commission but the seller no longer has to worry about photographs, listing, selling, returns, eBay messages from buyers or any of the other parts of managing sales on eBay.
The process of selling with eBay consignment is seamless, with eBay and Luxe Collective handling every component once they receive the item – from photography to pricing – ensuring the listing is competitive and professional.
How eBay Consignment Works (step-by-step)
- The user fills out the consignment intake form by answering a few simple questions.
- Upon submission of the form, a prepaid, insured shipping label is provided.
- eBay and the consignment partner, Luxe Collective, handle the item’s photography, pricing, and listing.

Very interesting venture by ebay. I’m not sure I’d like to hand my £10,000 luxury item to these likely lads . I believe they had their warehouse broken into not so long ago and had 500k of stock nicked.
