New F1 team Spyker are offering four advertising placements on their F1 car, at prices starting from half a million Euros. If you’re feeling exceptionally rich, why not go for the coveted centre of the engine cover, opening bid €3million? Those of us less well off will just have to content ourselves with the €75k replica car (sadly, it doesn’t come with an engine).
eBay’s operations manager in The Netherlands, Egbert van Keulen, said that this was “a first for eBay and a first for motor racing. It’s a highly unique auction and we’re delighted to facilitate.” And faciliate they have: sellers might like to notice that Spyker’s high-profile auctions are preapproved bidders only, a feature that was removed from general availability in January.
