From now until next Monday (10th June) you can send SMS text messages from Skype to your friends mobiles for half price. Sending a text message from Skype is great for those that aren’t able to have their mobile phones switched on at work but want to get a message to their friends (but equally you’re probably not allowed to use Skype at work anyway!) Many people have bundled text messages included in their mobile phone tarriff and if you do have free text messages then using Skype is probably not a great idea.
When Skype comes into it’s own is the ability to type your text message on a full size keyboard instead of pressing buttons on your mobile handset, and of course if you’re out of the country but want to send messages to people back home.
