Skype gets auto ringback and video features

Skype 3.5 has been released with a host of new features, some great for business and the others for fun.

Ringback has been added, or auto redial in Skype talk. If a number isn’t answered Skype can automatically keep trying redialing every two minutes until it can place the call. This is similar to pressing 5 on a BT phone when a line is engaged. You can also transfer incoming calls to another user on Skype or if you have Skype Pro to a landline or mobile number.

Adding video to Skype is likely to appeal more to casual users, Skype moods allow you to customise Skype for fun, and now instead of simply using images you can also use video. Skype say users increasingly want to express themselves and use Skype Moods, now you can download your favourite clip and display it to your contacts “giving colour and personality to your online profile”. The ability to include video in Skype Chats and the ability to take still photo’s during a video call has also been added.
