I use Firefox 3.0 and using it with eBay annoys the hell out of me. eBay simply does not support Firefox 3.0. There are a whole range of issues with it. eBay forces me to use Explorer to list and relist items because of all the glitches. Even searching goes wrong: When you search an item and want to change from for example “best match” to “newly listed” nothing happens. This has been going on for ages and eBay can not be arsed to do something about it. I hope that sites like Tamebay and Auctionbytes will give this problem much more attention to put some pressure on eBay. If eBay’s customer spupport is contacted they simply deny the problems.
Another glitch since I upgraded to FF 3.0 is that I can’t download sales data any more. The download opens in Excel, but has loads of extraneous commas in it. I have to do the downloads from IE now.
Hi Chris – that’s strange. I have Firefox Companion 1.6.3 running fine on Firefox 3.0.1 – Try updating it first. If that fails, let me know!
I went to an eBay university in Brighton a few years back and someone asked “why doesn’t eBay follow web standards so it works in Firefox?”
The answer was that if was Firefox’s problem and they needed to fix their browser!
#3 Thanks for the tip – I’ve now got 1.6.3 running as well. Had to manually download it though 😯 Firefox insisted it couldn’t find an upgrade for the eBay Companion addon which is a bit strange.
