iTunes hack charges victims PayPal accounts

No primary category set

If you use iTunes and have linked it to your PayPal account you might want to revoke the payment authorisation. There are reports on the Internet that there’s a security hole in iTunes and hackers have figured out how to charge thousands of pounds to users PayPal accounts.

What’s even worse is that the damage isn’t limited to funds that you may have available in your PayPal account but some users have had thousands of pounds taken from their bank accounts.

If you have fallen victim to these hackers your first point of call should be PayPal and your bank to get the payments reversed.

  1. No idea about the USA store or others, but as far as I’m aware you can’t use paypal on the UK store, only credit/debit cards or their prepaid vouchers. There’s nothing mentioned in the payments section about PayPal.
