Amazon have published a series of 10 top selling tips for sellers over the Christmas period. These tips are valid all year round, but especially so in this the busiest season of the retail year. You can see the full tips on the Amazon Seller Support Blog.

#1: Make sure Your Account Settings, Account Information and Policies Are Up to Date

Make sure that your email and banking information are all up to date. Post a customer service number for your buyers and make sure all of your store settings are up to date.

#2: Manage Your Inventory Proactively

Ensure you have sufficient stock on hand at busy times of the year and ensure when listing that your item exactly matches the ASIN you’re listing against.

#3: Keep an Eye on Customer Metrics, Buyer Claims and Feedback

Check the Buyer Claims section in your Seller Account daily to identify and resolve problems promptly. Monitoring your feedback closely will enable you to spot issues early so that you can proactively resolve them.

#4: Offer Expedited Shipping for Great Customer Service

Offer faster shipping methods so that buyers can continue to purchase right up to Christmas

#5: Optimise your Selection

Upload your full selection of products onto Amazon to offer Christmas shoppers a broad range of products and increase your turnover in the festive season.

#6: Manage Your Orders Closely

Don’t rely on emails to manage your orders – log into your Amazon seller account which provides up to the minute view of all your orders. Ship orders promptly as this will give you more time to resolve any issues that may arrive.

#7: Keep Safety & Security In Mind

Only accept payments through Amazon and despatch orders to the address provided through Amazon. Make sure you don’t fall for spoof emails, Amazon will never ask for sensitive information by email so if you’re not sure log into your Amazon account directly.

#8: Be a Star – Give Great Customer Service

Sellers who give great customer service can see results in good feedback and repeat sales to buyers. Keep in mind that customers have come to expect the same level of customer service from sellers that they receive from Amazon.

#9: Dealing with negative feedback

If you receive negative feedback try to resolve the issue with the customer, buyers can remove feedback if they wish and are now satisfied with the transaction
Amazon will remove feedback only in the following cases:
* The feedback includes obscene language.
* The feedback includes personally identifiable information.
* The entire feedback comment is a product review.
* The entire feedback comment is regarding fulfilment or customer service for an order fulfilled by Amazon.

  2. Intresting they mention negative feedback, a customer left us negative feedback for a t-shirt, when we don’t sell t-shirts and they purchased a bracelet!

Contact Amazon and they wouldn’t remove it!

  3. Amazon will remove (negative) feedback only in the following cases:

    * The entire feedback comment is regarding fulfilment or customer service for an order fulfilled by Amazon.

  4. Must say I’ve nothing but praise for Amazon in terms of feedback removal.
Had a pointless and undeserved neg removed yesterday in two hours, as it was deemed a product review, not transaction feedback.
I’ve managed to get customers to remove negs (left as a result of Amazon Marketplace postal rate policy) by sending them the removal instructions link after contacting them to explain.
I’d contact the customer and try that, Stuart.
Amazon feedback seems to be far pickier than the blunt comments Ebay buyers leave. This weeks favourite?
“instruction leaflet does not fit inside
pocket carrying pack” (…try folding it in half, love).
