Gumtree are back on the TV screen with two new adverts – general household goods and another focusing on cars.
The ad shows pretty much how Gumtree works (although I’m sure that’s not actually a ‘Gumtree’ in the advert). You list items you have for sale on what’s in effect a local notice board to sell to other people in your local area.
I’ve used Gumtree many times in the past and I’m interested to know what people think of their adverts.
Would the ads appeal to you if you’d never heard of Gumtree before? The message if you’re looking to sell locally, quickly and for free is clear and succinct, but would it make you log onto Gumtree.com to find out more?
Personally it’s hard for me to judge as I’ve used Gumtree many times in the past, both to buy and to sell. I’ve sold my car on Gumtree and bought everything from tables and chairs to a fridge freezer and have yet to have a bad experience.
If you’ve not used Gumtree before it’s also perfect for disposing of excess stock – you may not get the best possible price compared to eBay, but whenever I’ve listed items on Gumtree they’ve always sold.
