PayPal have teamed up with Oxfam for the second time this year re-introducing 100% giving for the month of September. This comes on the same day that Oxfam reveal that their supporters in England donated £100 million to Oxfam in the last year.
Researchshowed that 72% of Britons believe running costs eat up a significant amount of their donation and 65% admit that they are put off supporting charities because of these costs.
100% Giving was first trialled in February. Ordinarily, for every £1 donated to Oxfam, 81p goes directly to programme work, while 19p is spent on essential running costs such as training a staff member to work in extreme conditions, or delivering vital aid in emergency situations. However, throughout September 100% of every donation made via PayPal, will go directly to Oxfam’s lifesaving work worldwide.
For the whole of September, for every £1 you donate, PayPal will donate the 19p to cover all admin costs on donations made through PayPal meaning 100% of your donation goes directly to the the cause and none of your money is spent on administration.
All donations to 100% giving must be made via www.oxfam.org.uk/100percent during September.
