ChannelAdvisor have announced the appointment of Seamus Whittingham as the new Managing Director for EMEA, who was formerly at formerly of ATG and GSI.
This is an impressive background as ATG are a large ecommerce software company acquired by Oracle in 2012 and GSI of course is one of eBay’s biggest ever ecommerce software acquisitions. Seamus should be well positioned to attract large retailers to the ChannelAdvisor fold as according to David Spitz, ChannelAdvisor president and COO, Seamus “signed dozens of leading retail brands to long-term, strategic and successful partnerships” in his previous position. Companies he signed up to GSI include Peacocks, Helly Hansen and Peak Performance.
It will be an interesting time for ChannelAdvisor, five years ago they appeared to have very little competition in Europe, but today there are a plethora of multichannel management companies suited to both large and small online retailers.
If you want to meet Seamus one of the first opportunities will be at ChannelAdvisor’s Catalyst conference scheduled for the 28th-29th of May in London. Attendance costs £250.00 but until the 31st January there’s an early bird discount giving entrance to the conference for £199.00.

for £250 quid I would expect at least the pope
Remind us what happened to Peacocks – also the ATG link goes nowhere
This is very true Chris, there is plenty of competition now, and I have to say very good options. Anyone thinking of signing to CA, consider Linnworks (no % charge) or Channel grabber. I have used or had presentations from all the 4 main players, and Linnworks for me provided the best balance of features, usability and cost.
