We were delighted to learn today that our friend Emma Jones has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list for her services to enterprise. Emma is the founder of Enterprise Nation, an online resource for entrepreneurs and also one of the brains behind StartUp Britain. We offer her our hearty congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.
Emma says: “This came as a very pleasant surprise! I’m delighted to receive this honour whilst accepting there’s still work to be done when it comes to encouraging people to start and grow their own business.”
“Small business is the bright spot of the UK economy and we have a window of opportunity to create the right conditions and to offer people the confidence they need to turn an idea or hobby into a way of making a living. If we get this right, we will most certainly reap the returns.”
