Collect Plus have just opened their 5,000th parcel store in its nationwide network of convenience shops, supermarkets and garages. The rapid growth of Collect Plus means that 87% of the UK’s population are now within a mile of a store in urban areas and 88% are within five miles in rural areas.

With most Collect Plus stores open early until late, seven days a week and 40% of all transactions taking place outside traditional opening-hours, the service solves a long-term problem for growing businesses. Many online sellers start their businesses whilst holding down a full time job, and traditional Post Office opening hours just don’t fit their schedule. Collect Plus stores open until late in the evening or early morning enable you to drop off parcels at a time that suits you.

Collect Plus is the only parcel delivery and returns service integrated into both the eBay and Amazon sites and offer a tracked economy delivery service to their broad base of small business sellers.

Mark Lewis, CEO of Collect Plus, explained “The strength of our service is its convenience and this has only increased as the Collect Plus network of stores has grown so rapidly. Collect Plus has responded to the busy lives of our customers, offering delivery solutions that are on their doorstep”.

In the past year, Collect Plus has added nearly 1,000 stores to its network. Collect Plus uses PayPoint technology to power its parcel service, meaning that it has much more room for network expansion as PayPoint works with over 24,000 convenience retailers in the UK (As a comparison the Post Office have about 5,000 main Post Offices and another 6,000 in convenience stores).

Visvalingam Manivannan, owner of the 5,000th Collect Plus store which is the Hanging Hill Lane Costcutter in Brentwood, Essex says: “It is very exciting to be the 5,000th store in the Collect Plus network. We’re delighted to be offering our local community a parcel service that meets the needs of their busy lives”. He sees it as a business advantage adding “The service also provides a great opportunity for us to attract more customers and grow as a business here in Brentwood”.
