Win £1000 PayPal credit for buying on mobile

No primary category set

eBay Mobile Prize DraweBay are running a with ten £1000 PayPal credits to be won simply for making a purchase on your mobile phone.

If you received inviting you to participate and have subsequently purchase an item on the eBay UK mobile web or via an eBay app then you’re eligible for the Prize Draw. To qualify you’ll also need to pay via PayPal. The Prize Draw is open from the 19th until the 28th of February and all ten prizes will be drawn after the Prize Draw period has ended.

All winners will be notified by email on the 5th of March 2013 and the £1000 prize will be credited to the PayPal account associated with the Winner’s eBay account on the same day.

Mobile is going to grow significantly during 2013 and eBay are looking to encourage users who previously haven’t purchased via their mobile to do so with this competition. I’ve a ton of eBay accounts, but the two that received the Prize Draw email are both accounts which haven’t been used for selling, but have made a few sporadic purchases over a period of time, but have been dormant for some time. It’s looks like eBay are attempting to re-engage past buyers and bring them back onto the site from the convenience of their mobile.

Good luck if you got the email, we’d love someone we know to win. Full are available on eBay and check your inbox for the email.

  1. Hi,
SO I made that purchase through my mobile app and received an email telling me I have won a 1000£ paypal credit. Email looks very genuine, I checked all the links and attachments in they all lead to ebay. I have contacted eBay to check whether I have really won and was told an email is a scam and they know nothing about the competition???

  2. Have you phoned PayPal? Also is there money in your PayPal account?

If there’s money in your account then you won! If not it’s a scam.

(Check the email address registered to your eBay account and if you don’t have it on your PayPal account add it ASAP!)

  3. It came from [email protected] (I get a lot of emails from this address, mostly ebay adverts etc). I gave them link you provided and they ignored it, anyway, thanks! I got that email on a 5th of March, I guess if I don’t get the money within 7 days I will know it’s definitely a scam.

  5. A promo like this that ‘nobody knows about’ is very poor indeed.

Indicative of some sort of functionalised management structure that went out in the 80’s. Certainly not of the mobile era.

Someone needs to get a grip.

  6. SO I got the money in my paypal account, turns out it wasn’t a scam even though I was told so by two ebay chat advisers, it’s ridiculous considering that I was at one point connected with ebay’s technical team who identified email as definite scam. Well, if they wish they can scam me like that every day

  7. Magnificent News May I be the second to Congratulate you on your win.

In regard to ebay and Paypal it sounds like a classic case of left hands and right hands not having a clue about what was going on.

  8. we can all be experts if we take the easy option and pronounce everything false, takes a real expert to authenticate something as genuine,

  9. Thank you 🙂 I’m a girl so it looks like I’ll be hitting the shops for some much needed retail therapy 😛

  10. I think in this day and age we could all find ways of spending an unexpected £1K that drops into our laps. I’m old and decrepid and I know that I could.
